Education

Instituto Superior Técnico

MSc Computer Science and Engineering

I took the specialization in Distributed Systems and Cybersecurity, and loved specially the latter. I developed my thesis in the Cybersecurity area, working with WASM, targeting automatic vulnerability exploitation in WASM code. It is available in Técnico's website.

BSc Computer Science and Engineering

2017/09 - 2020/07

I learned a lot of new programming languages and paradigms, as well as some lower level subjects like computer architecture and optimization of programming. For the Software Engineering course, there was a prize for the best project and my group ended up winning along with another group.

Instituto Educativo do Juncal

High School Diploma - Science and Technology

2015/09 - 2017/07

I took my High School Diploma in Science and Technology, having selected the Geology and Biology, and Chemistry and Physics courses from the options for the first two years. For the last year, I had selected English and Physics from the given options.

Hobbies

STT

PWN / Reverse Engineering

2019/12 - present

I joined STT in 2019 and have learned quite a lot about cybersecurity with the team. I was a regular player when I was in my Master's and even participated in the CSAW Finals back in 2021. I play mostly PWN and reverse engineering challenges. Currently, I only play CTFs occasionally with them during part of my free time, but I am still able to enjoy it a lot.

Guitar Playing

I am a big fan of music and I learned to play guitar at school. I was part of the school covers' band for 4 years playing guitar and sometimes bass and I was also part of the school choir, playing guitar for 3 years. After I left high school I continued practicing, however not so regularly. I mostly enjoy playing rock/metal music due to their complexity, sound and to my personal music taste.🤘

Now after some time, I regained the motivation and I'm trying to reach the same level I was before (at least)

Mountain Biking

I also like some addrenaline and since I was very little that I enjoyed riding my bicycle. I usually ride once a week after work or on weekends as it is quite fun to go off-road on rough terrain specially with friends. I am only an amateur and never really got into any kind of competitive event.
